The day I prayed for a miracle.
This is the story of the day I prayed for a miracle. Pictured here is me - age 23, with my amethyst crystal crown that I regularly wore around NYC.
Often times I’d get stopped on the streets of NYC in my pastel clothes complete with crystal crown and people would ask me, “why do you live here?”
After a few years, I reached a point where I felt complete with my time in New York and planned to move to LA, inspired to attend school to get my masters in spiritual psychology. I knew I wanted to live in Venice, yet I had no idea how that was going to happen. So one day, in the midst of fretting on how this would happen, I prayed for a miracle. I prayed specifically to Mother Mary, the mother of miracles. I put on my crystal crown and went to my favorite cafe in Union Square. I ordered a tea and sat down at a table near the windows and opened up my book - at the time I was deep into The Mists of Avalon.
I remember pausing reading my book as I began to overhear 2 women in conversation next to me, one was saying how much she loved living in Venice, CA and went on about how special of an experience she was having there.
My heart lit up and I thought, “omg! It’s a miracle! They’re talking about Venice, it’s a sign that things will work out.”
I then looked over at the table and recognized Rochelle Schieck, someone who I had been introduced via email to a few days prior. I said, “Rochelle?!” And we laughed, smiled and hugged like old, familiar friends even though it was technically our first meeting. I told her about praying for a miracle and Venice - and how hearing her talk about it inspired hope. She then took the miracle next level by inviting me to start my time in LA by living in her place while I looked for my own, which is exactly what I ended up doing.
While many years have passed since his moment, to this day - I rely on miracles to guide my life...for big and small things - even and especially when things seem the most dire, hopeless, and bleak.
No matter what is unfolding in your world today, what if miracles could meet you here?
What if you could be a miracle / answered prayer for someone else - as Rochelle was for me?
Maybe miracles can meet you here.
With love,
Madeline
